OLASTEO's mission is to create experiences that empower students to serve as catalysts for social impact.
We do this by curating a roster of influential speakers, interactive workshops, and immersive trips, exposing our scholars to a broad range of perspectives and possibilities. With expanded mindsets, OLASTEO alumni are better prepared to take on the world and give back to their communities. OLASTEO is based in Los Angeles, where we provide diverse and unique opportunities to students throughout LA County and beyond.
Local Excursions
OLASTEO Local Excursions allow us to bring students together throughout the year for memorable day-long experiences in their home cities. These trips are designed to open and expand student perspectives through a curated educational and cultural experience at a local level.
National & International Excursions
OLASTEO National and International Excursions are the pillars of our programming. These multi-day trips are designed to bring our scholars to new cities, states, and countries to open and expand student perspectives within and beyond their home environment.

Our inspiring and motivational speakers are activists, storytellers, educators, and professionals who are specially selected for our public webinars and vetted for student experiences. We’ve heard from names like Edward James Olmos, Patrisse Cullors, and Carlotta Walls LaNier.
Virtual Experiences in 2020-2021
Our organization recognized the need to adapt quickly to a socially distant landscape in 2020. We are intensely obligated to continue providing enriching journeys for our student community, who feel the impact of this global pandemic much more severely than most. We have adapted the OLASTEO programming model to the virtual world, taking advantage of its interconnectedness and global reach.
